Governors’ Camp nestles in the forest on a site originally reserved exclusively for the colonial Governors of Kenya (hence the name). Half the tents look out over the rolling grasslands of Masai Mara and the rest line the banks of the Mara river. The decked bar is right on the waters edge, the perfect spot to watch wallowing hippo or a crocodile guarding its eggs. Governors concept “Here time is gauged by sunrise and sunset, the unchanged vistas stretch far into the distance while elephant, warthog and hippo stroll close to your tent.
