Mara Timbo - is a small luxury camp of only 7 tents located on the Mara River, but outside the actual Masai Mara game reserve. For this reason the game drives tend to take a picnic for the game drive to maximise the time in the park. The tents are amongst the largest I have seen so far, and have an amazing verandah area too, complete with outdoor bath and swinging chair. When we went there was a small herd of buffalo just outside the camp, and there are hippos to watch in the river in the evening.
